Evermore

A spooky knit by Samadrita Ghosh & Soham Dighe

The night was horrible. The apartment quiet, eerily quiet. Rishi couldn’t sleep, or eat or even drink. Tossing and turning in his bed all he could think of was a beautiful face, long dark curls and large eyes that were always smiling. He remembers all the funny accidents that had happened in the past three months, the cooking adventures, first time singing, sharing all his secrets with someone for the first time, having mid night chats. For the first time he had someone who cared about him, his wellbeing and listened to him. Someone who kept him sane in those hard days. He loved her. The way she laughed, the way she sang, the way she got mad at him and made faces at him. She was so pure, so innocent. Not once did she scare him and he always felt safe with her. So what if she wasn’t alive? She is a soul, a good one. And he…loved her. He does.

The next morning was tiring. The apartment was still empty. No sign of a certain smoky apparition. Rishi had tried calling out her name, which usually brought her to him. But today, she wasn’t there. He sighed. She was hurt. She really was. Man, he shouldn’t have said such things to her. What if she’s gone?
