Sanctuary of Epidaurus
Dear Bags,
Sorry it took me a while to respond but even unemployed Goddesses sometimes have things to do. Although I am not formally in employment anymore, there is not a formal ban on all of my activities. So, with the help of the moles, I spread my words. I am currently working on a project protecting languages which are becoming close to extinction by storing them in bottles for future use. Just like memories are stored in glass jars. You asked if we had stored your memory. No, my dearest Bags, and a good thing too because memories are only stored when your life on the surface is over. Your physical body turns into ash and dust, but your memory lasts eternally. Thankfully, you have a lot of time remaining and will hopefully put it to good use.
Thank you so much for your explanation about your regal responsibilities. I read this part of your letter many times before answering. Generally, I am against hereditary rulers as bloodlines to not give the gift of respect and being a leader. As a Goddess, I had to apply for the job and go through a rigorous application process before being selected. However, I can see you and your brother have been well-prepared and I am sure you will be fine rulers. I would be interested to know more about Dharma, Vedas and Shastras. Certainly sounds different from our training courses and annual certification we had to do.
You asked about Asclepius, the God of Healing I live with here. You might be surprised to know that your mother, Rajamatha, had contact with Asclepius through our moles. She just does not know. When the pandemic struck, we worked here tirelessly to find a cure to be able to send out to the wider world. The moles here have huge molehills with laboratories and in these, and under the guidance of Asclepius, different herbs and potions were mixed until the cure was found. This was sent out with the moles so that your mother would find it. You see, Asclepius is the master of medicine and modern health care. You can still see him everywhere, his emblem being a snake wound around a staff, and seen at many medical centers around the world. Our legacies are eternal. Memories and words from me and medicine from Asclepius.
And that brings me to my one and only question for you. What legacy do you intend to create? As a future ruler, surely you must have agreed to some sort of job objectives.
I look forward to your reply with keen interest.
Best wishes from my Sanctuary!
Mnemosyne
