14 April, 2084.

It’s been a long time, Athena. It’s been a long time, and today’s the 71st year of me getting your last communication. That fateful day I commemorate every year. Ironic, today also being our anniversary.

Like you wanted me to, I’ve lived a long, beautiful life. 2023 turned out to be much less worse than everyone expected, thanks to you, dear. As I’ve already told you, the virus mutated itself to death, I used your cure and our love is still alive and kicking. I know you’re still out here, I can feel your presence and, hear you.

To quote Will Herondale, ‘You are the first dream, the only dream I ever was unable to stop myself from dreaming. You are the first dream of my soul, and from that dream I hope will come all other dreams, a lifetime’s worth’

Okay, I have to go. Can hear our grandkid calling his grandma. Miss you. Come back.
Love you.

Forever yours,

Lou.
